Hoopeston Area Families,
16 new air handling units have been installed on the middle school roof on Monday October 10. Electricians and mechanical workers are finishing wiring and gas piping to start the units. The contractor will be installing three units on the roof on Monday October 17.
Glass for the upper windows in the cafeteria addition, the athletic entrance doors and the west set of doors will be installed either Friday October 14 or Tuesday October 18. The movable components or bottom section of the windows are scheduled to be in Dec 5. We are working to develop a plan to better insulate the window area until those windows arrive.
Steel for the roof, facia and facade of the cafeteria is scheduled to arrive October 20. The contractors will need approximately two weeks to complete. We have one of the three air handling units to be installed on the cafeteria roof on site, once the other two arrive and steel is installed, those units will be installed and made operational to provide heat to the cafeteria.
The concrete outside is near completion. We are waiting on the fire hydrant to be replaced, then the contractors will finish the concrete around the fire hydrant. The parking lot will be lined next week weather permitting.
Once the cafeteria is air controlled, ceiling and floor tiles will be installed.
