Construction update
August 12, 2022
The cafeteria expansion will be shelled in by the end of the day today. Once waterproofing is completed on the block walls, the finished brick veneer will start going up. The electricians have completed work outside of installing a few more lights and wiring inside the cafeteria expansion. Mechanical contractors should be wrapping up their work in the corridors early next week. Once the drains are placed in front of the school. The pavers should be in place near the athletic entrance prior to the end of the volleyball season.
Hoopeston Area CUSD #11 will begin the school year with in-person learning in all buildings. The construction project is moving along and we will have the Middle School ready to go for the start of school. Ceiling tiles have been placed in most of the classrooms and some of the corridors. The 12 west classrooms have been cleaned and waxed. The middle section of classrooms are to be turned over for cleaning and waxing today. Once the contractors clear their items from the main hallway, the hallway floors can be cleaned to reduce tracking of dust into the clean rooms, and classroom materials from the gym can begin to be placed in the classrooms. We are excited for the students, staff and the community to see the bright, clean middle school building. Thank you for your cooperation through this project.
