Mrs. Donna Spear




Mrs. Spear is the Secretary at HAMS since 2015. She is an Alum of Hoopeston East-Lynn High School. She has an AAS in Respiratory Therapy from Parkland College. She previously worked in the District in the Food Service Department, then later as a Personal/Classroom Aide. She enjoys working with all of the Staff and Students. Mrs. Spear has been married to Thomas Spear, another HELHS Alum, since 1981. She has three sons, all HAHS Alums! Zachary is a Lawyer, Spencer( wife, Rashelle) is a Middle School Math teacher and Lance(wife, Christine) is a Park Ranger Law Enforcement Officer. In her free time she enjoys visiting her sons, camping, home improvement projects and doing various crafts.

Community Liason

Mrs. Amy Linares



Amy Linares is the Middle School and High School Community Liaison. She enjoys helping students and their families succeed in their goals. She is a communication resource for students and parents. Mrs. Linares will be happy to discuss your concerns and relay them to the appropriate administrator. She encourages excellent student attendance, knowing that the best way to learn is on-time and in the classroom. (It's also easier and less time-consuming than teaching yourself!) She is a strong advocate for graduating. Having worked in Human Resources for several years, she knows the value of education in job competition. Never stop learning. It will only make you better!

Mrs. Linares graduated from Watseka Community High School and Eastern Illinois University. She has been a Hoopeston resident for about 20 years. She is married to George and has two children, Jonathon and Lauren. She enjoys cheering on the Cornjerkers!
Mr. Klaber

HAMS Dean of Students

Mr. John Klaber


Mr. Klaber is the HAMS DEan of Students.  He is a Hoopeston Area Alum and graduated with the class of 2000.  He then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in 2004 majoring in Health Studies and began teaching in Hoopeston in 2005.  Later, he completed his master’s degree in 2011 form Eastern as well.  He is also the head varsity soccer coach for the Hoopeston Area High School soccer team.   Mr. Klaber and his wife, Whitley, live in Hoopeston with their daughter Madox.

Mr. Brian Hodge



Mr. Hodge, Hoopeston alum, graduated from DACC and Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Secondary Education.  He returned to Hoopeston to teach Social Science at the Middle School and High School level. Mr. Hodge has a passion teaching World War II.  He is an integral part to the extracurricular program.  Mr. Hodge enjoys playing golf and watching sports.  His goal is to figure out who shot John F Kennedy.
