Mrs. Kari Rayls

Hi! My name is Kari Rayls. I am a secretary for Maple Grade School.

I grew up and went to elementary school in Rankin until my family moved to Hoopeston when I was in the 5th grade. I continued to live in Hoopeston and attended school here until graduating from Hoopeston Area High School in 1996.

After graduation, I moved away to attend college. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana Tech. Shortly after college, my husband Jared (also a proud Cornjerker) and I moved back to Hoopeston. We cannot imagine raising our daughters, Emma and Macy, anywhere else.

I am very excited to be working as a secretary at Maple School. Go Cornjerkers!!

Mrs. Jill Bence

Hello!  My name is Jill Bence. I have been a secretary at Maple Grade School since 2011.  I really enjoy working in the office and getting to know all the children.  It's amazing how much they learn and grow in such a short time.

I am originally from Dallas, Texas, but was raised in Charleston, Illinois. I currently live in Hoopeston with my husband Kevin, our son Casey and a Border Collie named Maddie.  In our spare time we enjoy spending time together, traveling (especially to the beach/ocean), playing golf, bowling, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, and having family game nights.

I’m excited about another great year at Maple!

Mrs. Sandy Bray

My name is Sandy Bray, and I was born in Watseka, Illinois, on February 26, 1962. My parents were Willard and Maurine Bruens, now deceased. I have lived in Hoopeston my entire life, and I graduated from Hoopeston Area High School in 1980.

I was married to John Bray in 1999, and we have five kids and nine grandchildren. I have worked for the school district since 2008, and love my job. When at home, I enjoy being outside working in my garden and flower beds, and I take every opportunity to spend time with my grandkids.

Mr. Wade Clemmons

Hello, my name is Wade Clemmons, one of Maple’s custodians.  I grew up in Potomac, Illinois, and graduated from Armstrong Township High School in 2008.  I currently reside here in Hoopeston with my wife Ashley, a Kindergarten teacher also at Maple.  I enjoy my position and the kids at Maple, milk spills and all!  We have one daughter, Viola Joyce.  I’m proud to say she’s definitely a “Daddy’s girl!”  I also enjoy being outdoors working in the yard, playing with our dogs Rosie and Fred, helping on the farm, and restoring antique tractors - red (IH) tractors, of course!  Attending flea markets/antique/primitive shows is a hobby of mine as well.

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to dust off your boots when you come to visit us at Maple.

Mr. Chuck Grant

I am a graduate of Hoopeston-East Lynn High School in 1977. I grew up in Hoopeston until I left for my commitment to serve in the US Army from 1985-1989. I was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and served also in South Korea.

I came back to Hoopeston after my military service where I now live with my wife Ginger. We have three children, Amanda, Aimee, and Nicholas.

Before working for the school district, I worked at FMC (Food Machinery Corporation), Eagle Wings in Rantoul, and Hoopeston Foods. I enjoy my job with the school district as a custodian and helping with the little kids at Maple School.
