Hello, my name is Shannon Anderson. I graduated from Hoopeston Area High School as did my husband Nathan. We have two sons, and we live on the family farm west of Hoopeston. We are true Cornjerkers, and wholeheartedly support our various sports’ teams and music programs!

I started working for the Hoopeston Area School District as a substitute, and I am now a paraprofessional in Miss Troxel’s Multi-Grade Classroom at Maple. When I am not working, our family enjoys tractor pulling and spending time together with other family members and friends.

I love working with children, and I am so happy to be a part of the team at Maple Elementary School.

My name is Jo Beauvois.  I graduated from Potomac High School in 1969.  In 1971, I graduated from Danville Junior College with an associate’s degree.  I started working at Maple Grade School in the fall of 1992 as a teacher’s aide for half days.  In the fall of 1994, I started working full time.  I have my paraprofessional certificate, and I also teach kindergarten music enrichment classes, which I really enjoy. 

My hobby is music - I played the saxophone in grade school and high school, and I play the piano and organ. 

My husband, Terry, and I were married on August 26, 1972.   We have two daughters, Melissa, who lives in Thomasboro, and Ashley, who lives in Hoopeston, and she volunteers her time to help with Hoopeston Area Marching Band and Show Choir.

I am Penny Conner. I am proud to be a Cornjerker as I graduated from high school here in Hoopeston in 1978. I am a paraprofessional associated with Miss Schafer’s 2nd grade students at Maple Grade School. I started working in the district in 1996 in the Early Childhood program.

I am married to my husband Michael, and we have two children, Daniel and Katherine. My son Daniel is a HAHS graduate and lives in Hoopeston and works at Wal-Mart and Schumacher’s. Katherine also graduated from Hoopeston Area High School and lives in Evansville, Indiana, with her son Quinten. Katherine is working as a cashier at One Main Financial.

My interests include reading mystery books, traveling to different garage sales, and spending time with my grandson. I have a dog Gypsy, and two cats - Rocket and Jax, and they provide lots of pet entertainment.

Hello, my name is Heather Cloud. My husband Dean Cloud and I have lived in Hoopeston most of our lives, and we attended the Hoopeston Area schools. We have 2 sons – one is attending Hoopeston Area Middle School and the other one is at Hoopeston Area High School.

I have volunteered my time at their schools since they were beginner students at Maple Grade School. I started working as an employee of the Hoopeston Area Schools in January 2016 as a personal aide. I am now a paraprofessional helping students in Miss Troxel’s Multi-Grade Classroom at Maple. I really enjoy working with children. My family and I attend the Hoopeston Community Nazarene Church where my husband and I both work with the teens in our church!

My name is Janet Elliott.  I graduated from Schlarman High School in Danville.  I earned my Associate’s Degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Danville Area Community College.  I joined the Hoopeston Area School District as a personal aide in 2013, and I am now associated with Miss Troxel’s students as a paraprofessional.   I mainly work with Mrs. Cox in a first grade classroom at Maple Grade School.

My husband, Chris, is a farmer.  We have three children, and all are graduates of Hoopeston Area High School.  We also have one grandson.

I like to go to garage sales, thrift shopping, decorating my house with ‘finds’ and refinishing furniture.

Hi, my name is Angela Layden.   I earned my paraprofessional licensure in 2015 after spending a year as a volunteer in a first grade classroom and being a substitute classroom aide.  I am currently working with Mrs. Kris Kellerhals, who is the teacher in the Early Childhood AM and PM classrooms at Maple Grade School. 

I graduated from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Arizona.  I also attended Riverside Community College in California. 

I am married to Eric Layden, and we have three kids – Victoria, Mason, and Shay.  Eric is a Hoopeston Area High School graduate with the Class of 1995.

I enjoy traveling and reading, and spending time with my family.

Mrs. Elizabeth McCool

My name is Elizabeth McCool, and I started working at Maple School in October of 2015.  I am a graduate of Potomac High School, and earned my Associate Degree at Danville Area Community College.  I am working as a paraprofessional in the Multi-Grade Classroom under Ms. Troxel.

My husband and I live in the country outside of Potomac with our two daughters.  We love spending time outside and have successfully attracted bluebirds to our yard where they have nested for several years.  We also have a small milkweed patch which allowed us to watch monarch eggs eventually transform to beautiful butterflies!

I am looking forward to helping the students at Maple School as they learn and grow.

Hi, my name is Christie Pancake. I am originally from Zionsville, Indiana. I graduated from Zionsville Community High School, and then attended Danville Area Community College where I received my Administrative Professional Associate’s Degree.

I am married to Jim Pancake. We live in Hoopeston I have a son Michael, who is in 6th grade at John Greer Grade School, and he enjoys being a Boy Scout. My husband is the Cub Master of the Hoopeston Cub Scouts Pack 118, and I assist as a committee chairperson.

I enjoy working with children, and I began working as a paraprofessional at Maple School in 2013, and truly enjoy being a part of the Maple team!

Hi, my name is Marta Lesak. I am a paraprofessional and have assisted in the developmental kindergarten class at Maple Grade School since 1995. I currently work with Mrs. Bre Wallace as the teacher, and the co-teacher, Miss Megan Schneider.

I graduated from Streator High School in Streator with the Class of 1975. I attended Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby and Danville Area Community College in Danville, and earned an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

I am married to Tom Lesak, and we have three children - Grant, Justin, and Angela. Our kids are all married. We also have eleven grandchildren - Lake, Audrey, Daxton, Waveland, Kiper, Scarlet, Lenora, Otto, Everly, Welles, and Campbell.

I enjoy gardening and vacationing on the ocean, and spending time with my family.

Hello, my name is Jenna Leslie. My husband Shane and I reside in Hoopeston with our three kids – Deegan, Miah, and Drenyn, and we attended the Hoopeston Area schools. I grew up in Rossville, and danced at the The Academy for the Performing Arts for 11 years. I graduated from Hoopeston Area High School in 2006.

I started working as an employee of the Hoopeston Area Schools in October 2016 as a personal aide for students in Miss Troxel’s Multi-Grade Classroom, and I am pursuing becoming a paraprofessional. I really enjoy working with children. My family and I love the outdoors with fishing and hunting, and also enjoy our church activities and listening to WBGL Radio.

Hi, my name is Jane Long.  I have enjoyed working for Hoopeston School District #11 as a substitute teacher since 2008.  I now have the pleasure of being a fulltime Title One Paraprofessional for Maple School.

I graduated in 1991 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.  I am married to Robert Long, and have one daughter named Sydney.  I am originally from Vienna, Virginia, and moved to Hoopeston in 2001.

I love the ocean, camping, making jewelry, and spending time in Virginia with my family.

I grew up on a family farm near Triumph in northern Illinois, and attended Ophir Grade School.  I graduated from Mendota Township High School in 1968.  I attended Illinois State University in Normal for three years.  I then was employed for several years as a secretary with various offices and duties.  I have lived in Kentucky and Wisconsin and many towns in Illinois. 

 I became employed with CUSD #11 in August of 1994 as a teacher’s aide.  I had previously worked as a substitute teacher’s aide, and then with Stokely USA as a scale operator for the canning facility in Hoopeston that closed in 1998.  I have enjoyed my various positions over the years with the Hoopeston School District working in all of the grade schools and also at the high school, and my most recent opportunity that was offered to me is being the librarian and computer parapro at Maple Grade Center. 

 I have two children, Christopher Luke and Corey Luke, who both graduated from Hoopeston Area High School.  Christopher, his wife Sabra, and their sons Travis and Truman, live in Durham, North Carolina.  Corey, his wife Lisa, and their two daughters, Madelyn and Scarlett, live in Rogers, Minnesota (which is a suburban area north and west of Minneapolis-St. Paul on I-94).

B. Martinez

I am Mrs. Becky Martinez.  I have been working with young children for many years.  I worked with Migrant Head Start from 1974 to 1994.  I began working then as a teacher’s assistant paraprofessional at Maple School in the fall of 1994.  In the summer of that same year, I also worked with the Migrant Education program.   I earned my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Danville Area Community College.  I also earned my paraprofessional certificate in 2004.

I live in Hoopeston with my husband Roberto.  We are members of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.  We have three sons, Rey and Roberto Teran, and Roberto Martinez, Jr.  We have eight grandchildren, four boys and four girls. 

I enjoy singing and playing my guitar.  I do the singing and playing for the weekly Spanish mass.  My hobbies are working in my garden and yard, and walking.

Hi, I'm Stacy Pierotti.  I grew up in Elgin, Illinois, until high school when I moved to Elburn, Illinois.  I graduated from St. Charles High School in 2000.  I married my husband Chris in 2004.  We are the proud parents to two girls, Elaine in third grade and Payton in first grade.  We have two dogs, Faith and Cooper.  We moved to Hoopeston after my husband accepted a job in 2013. 

I volunteered the past two years at Maple School doing various duties around the school.  In 2014 I received the district Expect More award as a volunteer, and in 2015 I completed the paraprofessional testing and became qualified to earn my State of Illinois licensure.  I am excited to be working with the Multi-Grade Classroom.

In my spare time I enjoy watching my girls in their various sports and activities.  I love working with children and being a part of the Maple staff.

Hi, my name is Julie Prince.  I was raised in Columbus, Indiana, and I attended Columbus North High School.  We came to Hoopeston when my husband was transferred with American National Can.  That was in 1989.

My husband Ed and I have two children.  Our daughter, Cristin, is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, and works at Lakeview School of Nursing as an admissions recruiter.  Our son, Kody, lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and is an Air Traffic Controller and has his private pilot’s license. 

I started working in the district in 1998 at Honeywell Grade School.  I started working at Maple School in 2005 as a personal aide.  I have been doing kindergarten supervised recess as a paraprofessional since 2009, and every year has been as special as the last one.

Hi, my name is Marie Schieler.  I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio, where I was born, raised, and went to school.  I attended John Carroll University before marrying my late husband Jerry.  He was a school bus driver for the district and lifelong Cornjerker.  We raised livestock for many years just west of town.  Our three children, Tricia, Angie, and Bob, are all Hoopeston Area High School graduates, and proud Cornjerkers.  Bob’s sons, Austin and Caden, are adopted Cornjerkers.

I have worked with the Early Childhood, C.A.R.E., Pre-K, and kindergarten programs in this school district since 1988.  I enjoy working with the youngest students.

Hello, my name is Mara Sutton. I am a paraprofessional in the Learning Resource Classroom at Maple Grade School. I graduated from Lincoln Christian University in 2016 with a degree in Intercultural Studies.

I grew up in Rossville, Illinois, and then attended Hoopeston Area High School where I graduated in 2012.

My name is Diane Swartz, and it has been my pleasure to have worked in the Hoopeston School District since the fall of 1992.

I have worked as a paraprofessional in most of the buildings in the district and I am currently at Maple School.  I really enjoy all the children at Maple. They always amaze me with their insightfulness, flexibility, and humor!!

My husband and I reside on a farm near Wellington. We have three grown children and six grandchildren.  I enjoy reading, movies, traveling, going to family activities, and I am always ready for new adventures!!
