Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Ashley Clemmons

Hello, I’ve been teaching at Maple since 2008 and must say I am very proud to be a Cornjerker! I believe Kindergarten is such a pivotal year in one’s education and look forward to each day! I live in Sheldon with my husband, Wade Clemmons, also a Hoopeston Area employee, and our soon to be two year old daughter, Viola. I graduated with my undergrad degree from Illinois State University in 2008, and then completed a Master’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University in 2012 with a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction.

I enjoy spending time as a family of three, being outdoors working in the yard, riding along on the tractor, or simply taking a ride listening to country music. I’m a big fan of Pinterest and continue to pin ideas perfect for school! Shopping for primitives/antiques is a hobby of mine as well as cooking/baking and spending time with friends and family. Vi is an energetic and sweet, yet ornery little girl and a joy to our family. She loves her cat, Tilly, playing at the park, reading books, etc!

Teaching has always been a lifelong dream and I hope to instill a lifelong love of learning in my students this year. I expect each student to try his or her very best and follow the behavior expectations. I encourage you to volunteer, as you are always welcome in our classroom. There will be many opportunities to help out! I sincerely look forward to meeting all of you and have big plans for an awesome year; a Kindergarten year in which your child will learn so much it will amaze you! See you soon!

"And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years." Abraham Lincoln

Hoopeston is where I live with my husband Josh, children Cole and Chloe and our family dog Brody.  I am a Hoopeston graduate from the class of 1999.  I attended Blackburn College and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.  I love being a part of this wonderful school district.

I love teaching children.  I have been teaching since 2004.  Teaching is my passion and I love every minute of it.  I hope that I can show my students how fun learning can be.  I want my students to be life-long learners who see how important education really is.

In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends, exercising, and of course, shopping!  I also love finding new things to try with my class on Pinterest.  I am ready and excited about the year ahead!  It is going to be a great year!

Kindergarten Teacher

Miss Megan Schneider

Hello, I am excited to be starting my teaching career at Maple Grade School!  I was born and raised on a small farm southeast of Flanagan, Illinois.  Being the daughter of two teachers, I quickly learned I wanted to continue the family tradition.

After high school, I attended Greenville College.  In December 2013, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education.  I understand what a pivotal role kindergarten plays in a student’s education.  I love watching students explore and make sense of their world.

When I am not in the classroom, I can be found outside.  I love to kayak, hike, and bike.  I also love spending time with my family and friends, reading, laughing, and traveling.

Mrs. Bre Wallace

Hello! I grew up in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I attended Northern Illinois University. I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in Special Education. After graduation, I made my way to this area, and taught Pre-K classes at Rossville for two years.

I began teaching Developmental Kindergarten at Maple Grade School in 2012. I love providing students with one of their first classroom experiences. I believe early childhood education is so important, and I enjoy seeing students learn new skills! I love the energy the students have and how excited they are to learn new things. It is truly amazing how much a child can learn in nine months of school. I love being a part of the Hoopeston Area School District.

I live in Hoopeston with my husband Randy, our daughters Nyla and Indie, and our cat, Ivy. I love spending time with my family! A few of my interest include hanging out with friends, Chicago Cubs baseball, and shopping.

Go Cubs!
