K-6 Social Worker

Mrs. Kim Bergstedt

My name is Kim Bergstedt and the 2016-2017 school year will be my first year employed by the Hoopeston Area School District as the K-6 School Social Worker. I received my Master's Degree in School Social Work from the University of Illinois. I have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant and School Social Worker for other school districts in the area. I love to travel and spend time with my family and friends. I look forward to being a team-player and serving the students of the Hoopeston Area School District!
K. Clayton

Speech/Language Pathologist

Mrs. Katie Clayton

Mrs. Clayton is a born and raised Cornjerker and descends from a long line of Cornjerker educators. Mrs. Clayton attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL where she received a B.A. in Psycholinguistics. No such degree in Psycholinguistics existed at IWU until Mrs. Clayton decided to 'write' her own major.
Mrs. Clayton was married shortly after graduation and then attended Illinois State University in Normal, IL with her husband where they both received their Master's degrees in Communication Disorders and Sciences.
After receiving their degrees, Mrs. Clayton and her husband decided to move to Shiprock, New Mexico where they lived and worked on the Navajo Indian Reservation for two years working as Speech-Language Pathologists. It was an amazing and fascinating experience! After two years, the Clayton's returned to their farmhouse in Hoopeston where they have lived for nearly 10 years.
Mrs. Clayton and her husband have three little princesses, Willamina, Olive & Eloise. Dogs, cats, ponies and chickens complete the Clayton menagerie.
When she is not working, Mrs. Clayton is usually involved in some 'mommy' task such as picking up after little people, doing laundry or housecleaning of some type. Mrs. Clayton is an avid reader, usually non-fiction and always real 'honest to goodness' old fashioned books made of paper, not a Kindle! Mrs. Clayton loves her iPod, ethnic foods (the spicier the better) and all things photography (she is a'mamarazzi' of sorts)!
