Thank you for visiting Hoopeston Area High School website. I have been the Dean of Student at HAHS since 2011.
I graduated from Greenville College in 1998 with a degree in Drivers Education and Physical Education. I also studied at Saint Xavier University Master program in Curriculum and Instruction.  The key components of this program include focus on literacy, diversity, integration of technology and an interdisciplinary perspective in education. I also hold an Educational Administration Degree from Concordia University.
Prior to Hoopeston Area High School I spent time coaching, teaching and being athletic director during my time at Greenville College, Villa Grove High School, Charleston High School, Illiopolis High School and Galva Jr./Sr. High School.
My mission is to contribute to the betterment of the students, School District and the communities it serves.  Both in and out of the classroom, my goal is to enable students to think critically, solve problems, make decisions, and develop necessary skills for productive citizenship and  a lifetime of learning.

Community Liason

Mrs. Amy Linares

Amy Linares is the Middle School and High School Community Liaison. She enjoys helping students and their families succeed in their goals. She is a communication resource for students and parents. Mrs. Linares will be happy to discuss your concerns and relay them to the appropriate administrator. She encourages excellent student attendance, knowing that the best way to learn is on-time and in the classroom. (It's also easier and less time-consuming than teaching yourself!) She is a strong advocate for graduating. Having worked in Human Resources for several years, she knows the value of education in job competition. Never stop learning. It will only make you better!
Mrs. Linares graduated from Watseka Community High School and Eastern Illinois University. She has been a Hoopeston resident for about 20 years. She is married to George and has two children, Jonathon and Lauren. She enjoys cheering on the Cornjerkers!
